Here are a few of the things I like about my ING account. I have been an happy customer since 2004.
1. Electric Orange: is their checking account with tiered interest rate.
Highlights are:
- Interest paid monthly
- Free Bill pay (Not one of the best bill pays around, but still usable if you don't have any.)
- Free Debit card (Mastercard) with no-fee Allpoint ATM access. (This is one of my best, because my local costco and grocery stores that I go to have Allpoint atms, where I can get free withdrawals.)
- Deposits/Withdrawals through direct deposit and electronic transfers.
- Facility to send electric checks to friends.
I have both accounts, and most of my money is in the savings account. The electric orange is a good place to keep all your savings (withing FDIC insurance limits), if you have atleast 100k (because of tiered rates in electric orange).Otherwise, better to keep most of the money (again within limits) in savings account and transfer money to checking whenever needed (upto 6 withdrawals are allowed)
